Player’s Code of Conduct The Southside Youth Senter provides a safe and balanced learning environment for players of all abilities. Participation in recreational sports develops athletic skills, character, sportsmanship, and teamwork. The Southside Youth Senter promotes the physical, social, and emotional development of youth participants. I understand that as an SYS Player, I am expected to embrace the values of good sportsmanship and fair play. I shall conform my behavior to the following code of conduct: 1. I recognize that I am representing the Southside Youth Senter and will act accordingly at practices and games. 2. I will have fun, give my best effort, and be respectful of teammates, opponents, coaches, and officials. I will be a “good sport.” 3. I will not make verbal or physical threats toward anyone, or use profane language or gestures toward officials, coaches, or SYS staff. 4. I will accept decisions of officials as being fair and performed to the best of their ability. I will refrain from criticizing any of the above verbally or by gesture 5. I will treat my coaches, teammates, opponents, officials, and fans with respect regardless of regardless of race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, or gender identity or expression. 6. I will never ridicule or yell at my teammate or other participants for making a mistake or losing a competition. 7. I will not attempt to ever injure another player in any way, physically or emotionally. 8. I will not engage in cyberbullying acts to any coach, parent, player, SYS staff, official or any other sports attendee. Cyberbullying includes, but is not limited to, the following misuses of technology: harassing, teasing, intimidating, threatening, or terrorizing by way of any technological tool, such as sending or posting inappropriate or derogatory e-mail messages, instant messages, text messages, digital pictures or images, or Web site postings (including blogs). 9. I understand that I am not allowed to use tobacco, alcohol, or illegal drugs in any form. I realize that failure to comply with above regulations may result in loss of game time or suspension from athletic participation. I understand that posting negative content on social media may result in suspension or removal from the team.
Spectator Code of Conduct*
SYS Spectator Code of Conduct The Southside Youth Senter provides a safe and balanced learning environment for players of all abilities. Participation in recreational sports develops athletic skills, character, sportsmanship, and teamwork. The Southside Youth Senter promotes the physical, social, and emotional development of youth participants. It is essential for parents, coaches, and officials to encourage young athletes to embrace the values of good sportsmanship. All adults involved in youth sporting events should be models of good sportsmanship and lead by example demonstrating fairness, respect, and self-control. As a parent or guardian of a SYS player, I pledge to be responsible for my words and actions while attending a youth sporting event. I shall conform my behavior to the following code of conduct: 1. I will be a positive role model for my child and encourage sportsmanship by showing respect and courtesy, and by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, officials, and spectators at every game. 2. I will not engage in any kind of unsportsmanlike conduct such as booing and taunting toward any official, coach, or SYS staff. 3. I will not make verbal or physical threats toward anyone, or use profane language or gestures toward officials, coaches, or SYS staff. 4. I will treat any coach, official, and SYS staff with respect regardless of race, creed, color, national origin, sex, or sexual orientation. 5. I will encourage my child to practice good sportsmanship. 6. I will never ridicule or yell at my child or other participants for making a mistake or losing a competition. 7. I will promote the emotional and physical well-being of all the athletes ahead of any personal desire I may have for my child to win. 8. I will accept decisions of officials as being fair and performed to the best of their ability. I will refrain from criticizing any of the above verbally or by gesture. I will never go onto the court while the game is in progress to dispute a call. 9. I will allow any questions or rule interpretations to be handled appropriately by the coaches, staff, and officials. I hereby agree that if I fail to conform my conduct to this code while attending a SYS youth sporting event, I will be subject to disciplinary action, including being removed from the facility.
