After School 26/27 Enrollment Form
At Southside Youth Senter, our After School Program provides a safe, engaging, and enriching environment where children ages 5–13 can continue learning, build meaningful friendships, and develop lifelong skills after the school day ends. Students begin each afternoon with dedicated homework time before enjoying a nutritious dinner and supervised outdoor or indoor recess, ensuring they have time to refuel, stay active, and prepare for an exciting afternoon of learning and fun. Our daily schedule is intentionally designed to provide a balance of academic support, physical activity, creative exploration, and opportunities for social growth while meeting or exceeding Texas Child Care Regulation requirements for supervision, safety, and developmentally appropriate programming.
Each week, children rotate through our specialized learning environments, including the Technology Studio, Science Lab, Art Studio, and Engineering Lab. Based on enrollment Outdoor Education may also be incorporated into the weekly rotation, giving students additional opportunities to explore nature, participate in team-building activities, and develop an appreciation for the outdoors. Every center includes an engaging 15–20 minute Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) lesson followed by a hands-on enrichment activity that encourages critical thinking, creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving. The remainder of each center period allows children the freedom to explore their interests through guided choice, helping them build confidence, independence, and meaningful relationships with their peers while experiencing a variety of STEAM-based learning opportunities. If only four classes are required; Fridays are dedicated to Free Choice Centers, allowing students to revisit their favorite activities from the week.
Our program is built around the mission of Southside Youth Senter: to provide an inclusive and engaging environment for all children to develop the necessary skills to become successful members of society in all aspects of their lives through Social Emotional Learning (SEL), STEAM, and Sportsmanship. Families can have confidence knowing their children are cared for by trained professionals in a licensed Texas School-Age Child Care Program that emphasizes active supervision, positive guidance, healthy relationships, and age-appropriate enrichment in accordance with Texas Health and Human Services Minimum Standards. Whether your child enjoys building, creating, discovering, exploring new technologies, or learning outdoors, every afternoon at Southside Youth Senter is designed to inspire curiosity, encourage personal growth, and make learning an adventure.
